5 Simple Steps To Get Motivated In Minutes

Everyone lacks motivation now and then, but if you’re under the pump and feeling stressed you probably don’t have the time to work out why!  When you’re lacking the oomph to get going again follow these 5 quick steps to shift up a gear and get moving in minutes…

Get Moving Again

Step 1:  Be Realistic

Setting unachievable goals and deadlines will play havoc with your motivation-gauge.  Do a simple check now to make sure that the budgets, timelines, goals and aspirations you’re working towards are realistic – if not, change them.Step 2:  Be Committed

Do you actually want to achieve your goal?  If you don’t it’s no surprise that your motivation is waning!  To keep energized and moving forward you need to be committed to the end result and wiling to do whatever it takes to get there.  If you’re not committed, find another goal or change your perspective so that you see the end result differently – where you focus your mind is YOUR choice, so pick it wisely!

Step 3:  Be Inspired

Are you surrounded by bad influences?  Other people’s negativity and lack of enthusiasm can have a major impact on your level of motivation.  Surround yourself with positive and supportive people, and steer clear of the rest!

Step 4:  Be Prepared

If you’re struggling to stay motivated because you don’t have the skills or knowledge required to reach your goal you need to seek out the information and advice required to get back on track quickly.  Don’t sit around hoping, wishing and waiting – be proactive, put yourself out there, and ask for what you need so that you can move on.

Step 5:  Be Willing To Fail

A fear of failure stops many people achieving their goals and aspirations.  It kills motivation and can make you feel suck and overwhelmed.  It’s important to acknowledge that setbacks are a valuable way for us to learn, and should be used as a development tool instead of a motivation killer.  Expect set-backs along the way – you will succeed, and the ‘failures’ you experience are a vital component in your own personal development.
