Many people feel stuck right now. They want to change jobs, set up a new business or make a brave life-changing decision, but they don’t think they can because of the economic downturn. The problem is that the economy has become a convenient scapegoat for those who are fearful of change, and instead of carving out a way to move forward they’re putting their life on hold.
If you’re willing to admit that you’ve fallen into this trap, or perhaps you know someone who has, here are 3 tips to master your mentality and start getting ahead today: –
1. Turn Off The Box
Turn off the news and stop absorbing all the worst things that are going on around the world. It’s the media’s job to report on the doom and gloom, but it’s not your job to watch it! It’s not always easy to filter out the bad from the good when you’re watching T.V. so unless you’re really feeling on top of your game mentally give the news a miss otherwise you might find yourself falling victim to media hype or a warped perception of reality. This isn’t about denial, or having a Pollyanna mindset, it’s about being smart when it comes to feeding your mind!
2: Have Selective Hearing
Friends, colleagues and family might have your best interests at heart and love you dearly but they doesn’t stop them being negative or reinforcing the media’s doom and gloom. Rather than start an argument with them about positive thinking, simply choose to have selective hearing and refrain from buying into their perceptions of the world. It’s far more empowering to listen to brave, inspiring people who are choosing to move ahead in their lives rather than listening to those who are fearful of change and unwilling to accept that the world evolves and they need to move with it.
3. Believe In Yourself
Many people don’t take action towards their dreams and aspirations because they don’t believe in themselves – the economy has nothing to do with this! If you want to come up trumps and live the life you deserve you have to believe in yourself and display resilience and persistence to achieve your goals. Your subconscious mind doesn’t argue with you – instead it accepts what your conscious mind decree’s so if you don’t believe you can achieve something, your subconscious mind works to make that true. Choose what you focus on wisely and make sure you truly believe you can achieve your dreams and aspirations.
