Get The Confidence You Need To Achieve Success

Self-confidence is an important ingredient in creating a successful life.  A lack of self-confidence can impact you personally and professionally, and the 'symptoms' generally create a vicious circle that can stop you achieving your best... 

Do You Lack Confidence?

Self-confident people inspire confidence in those around them, and gaining the confidence of others can play a key factor in creating success.  The good news is that self-confidence can be learnt and the benefits are well worth the effort.

How confident do you think you are?  The first step in building confidence is to recognise the things you do that don't promote confidence to those around you.  Which of the following thoughts or actions do you recognise in yourself: -

Self-Confident
  • You put in extra effort and take risks to achieve better results
  • You do what you believe is right even if you are mocked or criticised by others
  • You admit your mistakes and learn from them
  • You wait for others to congratulate you on your successes
  • You accept compliments graciously

Low Self-Confidence
  • You stay in your comfort zone and fear failure
  • The way you behave is based on what other people think
  • If you make a mistake you focus on covering it up and hoping no one realises
  • You tell people about you successes as often as possible
  • You dismiss compliments and play-down your achievements

Think about the different areas of your life e.g your career, relationships, finances and fitness and identify where you are lacking in confidence.  For example - do you do the same workout in the gym every week because you don't know how to use the rest of the equipment and are fearful of making a mistake?  Get clear on where you are holding yourself back.
