Who Else Wants To Be An Entrepreneur?

What does the word 'entrepreneur' mean to you?  For many it describes someone who has a varied and challenging career, and who ultimately takes calculated risks to achieve business success that can in turn bring about fabulous rewards.  So why aren't there more entrepreneurs?

The Biggest Problem With Wanna-Be-Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurs are full of ideas - some good, some bad, but ultimately they have a talent for creating options.  However, what sets successful entrepreneurs apart from the Wanna-Be's is the 'F' word - Focus.

Wanna-Be's are fabulous creatures in themselves - typically energetic, motivated and desperate to get a good idea underway.  However they get distracted.  Before long another fabulous idea comes to mind and suddenly they're consumed by all the new things they need to do, leaving the first idea by the wayside, unfinished and unloved.  Ultimately this vicious circle only rewards the Wanna-Be's with a sense of overwhelm and a dent in their bank balance, nothing else.

To avoid sabotaging your success follow these simple steps: -

  • Carry a small notebook with you to jot down your brilliant ideas - once they're on paper you can focus 100% on the task at hand
  • Choose one idea and carefully plan how you can execute it
  • Set timely, realistic goals and stick to them
  • Don't change goals when the going gets tough - have you ever seen Richard Branson give up?
  • Get help - who do you need on your 'team' to make this idea work?  Friends, family, marketing guru, coach, accountant ....

I'm coaching some fabulous entrepreneurs at the moment who are getting great results - post a comment on our blog to let me know what's challenging you and let's get a discussion going to help you create great results too.

Have a fabulously focused week!
